Stanka Gjurić lives and work in Zagreb (Croatia). She is a poet (with nine published books), and from 2006., a filmmaker. Stanka is a member of the Croatian Writer Association and Croatian Independent Artist’s Association.

As the author's spectrum of interest is rather broad, Stanka tried her skills as an actress and acted in four feature films.

From October 2006, Stanka started to make short films as complete author (director, photographer, scriptwriter, editor...).

 

In October ’06. she was invited from Festival of the first to present her short movie “Ubojite misli” (with the topic: MINES) in Gallery Nova in Zagreb.

* From21 - 23 December her film “Spavanje i sanjanje” (“Sleeping and Dreaming”) were selected for International film Festival for small and independent film and video productions

* In October ’07. Stanka’s short film “Ubojite misli” is selected for a 10. Environmental Film Festival CIMEMAMBIENTE in Torino (Italy)

* Her short film “Ubojite misli” was selected for Enviromental Film Festival CineEco in Seia (Portugal), in October ’07.

* From 22.10.-11.11. Stanka was invited to participate in Amala Media and Light arts - artist workshop and cultural event in Alexandria (Egypt) where she show her two short movies and video instalation in exhibitions opened in Goethe Institute and Atelie of Alexandria.
