The objectives of Filmmor Women’s Cooperative which was established in 2003 and is open exclusively to women’s cooperation, are :

 

To increase the presence and visibility of women and their life experiences as well as increasing the exchange of experiences among women.

To increase the participation of women in cinema and media and in this respect improve their opportunities to express themselves through these media while improving their power and productivity.

And of course a future where there is no gender discrimination in cinema and any other dimensions of life, where women and men have equal opportunities and where there is neither violence nor discrimination.

Filmmor Activities

Cinema Workshops:

 

In 4 cinema workshops, where women can get knowledge and experience in themes like Oral History, The Gender of The Film and Feminist Cinema, the participants produce their first films.

 

 

 

Exhibitions:

Women from Women’s Perspective: Karma Photography Exhibition with the participation of 9 woman photographers, 2007, İstanbul, Diyarbakır.

Exhibition: Let’s Talk about Honour: Film Photography Exhibition with the participation of 5 woman photographers and 4 woman film makers, 2008, İstanbul, Diyarbakır, Van

 

 

Film Productions:

 

Since 2003, we have done 10 films on different contexts of being-a-woman and women’s experiences. We continue to make films with, for and about women as well as giving production support to women’s film projects.

 

 

 

International Filmmor Women’s Film Festival

The festival which has get started in İstanbul and went around different cities in Turkey with the films of only woman directors, has been going on for 8 years with different themes and activities.
