This piece explores the nature of patterning through image and sound. The imaging comprises sections of a scan of an insect's wing. The structure employed for the transformation of the images is an interpretation of the mathematical formula perfect squares. They are 1x1=1, 2x2=4 etc. This piece is constructed using 64 images. Juxtaposed with the mathematical construction of the images, the sound element comprises the natural aural patterning of five field recordings of cicadas songs. These recordings focus attention upon commonly overlooked or even psychologically inaudible sound.(more)
