2006 Sundance Film Festival Grand Jury and Audience Award Winner Quinceanera's lead actor Jesse Garcia stars in the story of a young man forced to deal with the long forgotten past.
Jesse (Jesse Garcia), a hardened young man serving as a surrogate parent to his younger brother, Andy (Andrew Aguilar), encounters a stranger, Alex (Alex Castillo), on a desolate beach. When Alex, a clean-cut older man, starts preaching the Lord's Gospel, Jesse dismisses the religious rhetoric as annoying until he realizes Alex's true identity.
Against his instincts, Jesse engages a conversation with Alex, his long estranged father, inadvertently placing Andy in danger. As Alex reveals his true motives and attempts to reconcile with him, Jesse confronts and threatens him. Their reunion ends abruptly with a rather unfortunate result.
This film poses the question: What would you do if suddenly forced to reconcile with someone in the absence of the past?(more)
