Festival Description:

The Trencianske Teplice International Art Film Festival focuses on delivering fresh films from the whole world to the Slovak audience in the heart of Eastern Europe. Next to the new talents and discoveries of the trends in the film making all over the world we would also like to show the works of the known film directors, or masters, in the Panorama section. We are bringing world films to Slovakia but also mapping the regional film industry in the Eastern Panorama section. In addition, we focus on finding new talent in the short film section and show some documentaries.

AIFF screens feature and short experimental and artistic films and digital video in competitive categories that include:

Blue Angel Award for Best Full-Length Picture – EUR 15,000 for the director of the winning film.

Award for Best Short – EUR 5,000 for the director of the winning film.

Eastern Panorama Award – EUR 7,000 to Best Eastern European Picture.

Special Festival Awards

Actor’s Mission: Since 1995, the Artfilm festival has been awarding actors and actresses for their extraordinary contribution to the art of cinema. The Actor’s Mission Award is a brass tablet that the awarded stars place on the Bridge of Fame in Trenčianske Teplice. So far, thirty-two leading Slovak and foreign actors received the award.

Golden Camera: This award goes to Slovak and foreign film professionals of various fields for their contribution to the art of cinematography.
