The Tokyo International Film Festival (hereinafter referred to as TIFF) has been held yearly since 1985 with the official endorsement of International Federation of Film Producers Associations (FIAPF). As one of the world's twelve largest international film festivals. and Japan's only officially approved international film festival, TIFF has had a major influence on Japan's film industry and culture.
The festival is divided into several categories: the traditional "Competition", which draw worldwide notice; "Special Screenings", where highly entertaining works that have yet to be released are collected under one roof; "Winds of Asia" that anticipates new trends in Asian culture; and "Japanese Eyes" that focuses on the new appeal of Japanese movies.
The Awards include: the Tokyo Sakura Grand Prix (with cash prize of 50,000 USD), Special Jury Prize, Award for Best Director, Award for Best Actress, Award for Best Actor, Award for Best Artistic Contribution.

Gesut Mr.Yosuke Yamashita and Mr.Michio Hazama
Chairman of the 20th Tokyo International Film Festival Mr. Kadokawa, who has assumed his position since 5 years ago commented that he is happy to be able to provide TIFF as the forum to send out various contents and also to introduce movies from around the world into Japan.
In addition, he mentioned that TIFFCOM, which is in its 4th year is starting to stabilize as an open and fair market and many companies around the globe have already decided to participate. He hopes that everyone will enjoy TIFF again this year.
Also, Mr. Hazama, our guest explained that they kicked off this Sei-yu Ko-En event to do something interesting since this year is full of anniversaries including 50 years since voice overs began in Japan, 20th edition for TIFF and 40 years since Mr. Yamashita started recording.
