The Tiburon International Film Festival (TIFF) is an annual event, which seeks to provide a greater understanding of the world and its many cultures through the artistic medium of film, and through the top quality films from around the world. TIFF wishes to enhance tolerance between people of all backgrounds. Its goal is one of cultural enrichment and heightened cultural awareness, and to create a platform for the independent filmmakers to express their talent and vision from any nation. TIFF strongly believes in its motto: "Understanding the World through Film"®
TIFF screens films of all genres and awards films in the categories including Best of: Film, Director, Cinematographer, Short, Documentary, Screenplay, New Talent, Animation, Comedy, Children, Sports, Music, Humanitarian amongst others.

The Tiburon International Film Festival will present a panel discussion on Sunday, March 16 with guest Hal Hickel, Academy Award winning visual effects animator for Industrial Light & Magic (ILM) and Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man’s Chest, for a special presentation on the Pirates of the Caribbean series, and how visual effects create a new and illusion world for film audiences.

A special panel discussion on “New Technologies for Acquisitions and Distribution” moderated by Robert Render Harrison, an independent producer, photographer, Steadicam operator and writer for movie making magazines. The panel will feature leading industry specialists and topics will include the future of action movies on the big screen, the future of home theater, of truly independent distribution, and of digital acquisition for independent filmmakers.
