The Stuttgart International Festival of Animated Film is the second largest film festival for animated film in the world. More than 40,000 visitors and 1,000 professionals celebrate animated film in the most modern cinemas in Europe – in the center of Stuttgart.
The Stuttgart Festival of Animated Film has been an international “family reunion” for professionals from the field of animated film for over 27 years. The competitions held during the event cover the whole range of creative work produced within an innovative industry.
Competitive Categories include:
INTERNATIONAL COMPETITION- The International Competition is the heart of the
Festival. Artistically outstanding short animated films, released over the last 12
months can be seen here. Prize: 15,000 Euros
INTERNATIONAL PROMOTION AWARD- for the best graduation film. Prize: 10,000 Euros
YOUNG ANIMATION- The Young Animation competition shows the best
films produced by talented young filmmakers and students from international
film and art schools. Prize: 2,000 Euros
TRICKS FOR KIDS- Tricks for Kids presents both sophisticated and entertaining current children’s animated films. Numerous activities complement the competition. Prize: 4,000 Euros
ANIMOVIE- The feature film competition AniMovie screens a selection of internationally outstanding feature-length animated films. Prize: 2,500 Euros
ANIMATED SERIES- The competition for unusual, entertaining and innovative
animated TV series. Prize: 2,000 Euros
UNDER COMMISSION- The new competition for commissioned film work. Entries
can include animated film for advertising, animated music videos or TV idents.
SWR AUDIENCE AWARD. Prize: 6,000 Euros
MUSIC FOR ANIMATION. prize: 5,000 Euros
GERMAN ANIMATION SCREENPLAY AWARD. Prize: 5,000 Euro
Total amount of prize money: 52,500 Euros
