Festival Description:

The Shadow Festival, now in its eighth year, has become associated with quality and critical discernment within the field of the documentary. Where some film festivals have grown to mammoth proportions operating like general podiums or outlets, the Shadow Festival has stuck to its original mission – to inspire the general public and especially the young with outstanding work. The festival generally selects no more than twenty-five films per year. The accent is on original and individualistic filmmaking, rather than keying on relevant subjects. The festival has established a valued trademark in the form of the extended discussion periods which follow each screening. The audience participation during these sessions underlines the basic accessibility and no-nonsense atmosphere that the festival represents.
