The 31st MOSTRA – SÃO PAULO INTERNATIONAL FILM FESTIVAL will include three sections:
NEW DIRECTORS COMPETITION – A competitive section for filmmakers with a first and second feature. MOSTRA has devised an innovative, democratic formula for competition. After a the first week of screenings, VOTES FROM THE PUBLIC will then define, from among all of the films in competition, a minimum of ten films to be shown during the second week of the festival to an International Jury consisting of persons from various countries of acknowledged importance to the cinematographic industry. The winners of NEW DIRECTORS COMPETITION will be awarded the BANDEIRA PAULISTA award, a trophy designed by artist TOMIE OHTAKE.
INTERNATIONAL PERSPECTIVE – A panorama of the most important and representative production in world cinema in the last two years. Inscriptions of films whether features, medium-length or short films will be accepted whatever the media, subject, or nationality. International Perspective will be divided into International Section, Brazilian Section and Medium-Length and Short Section. All of the films included in INTERNATIONAL PERSPECTIVE will compete for the Audience Award.
There will also be a program of SPECIAL PRESENTATIONS to complement festival workshops.
