Held in the Gaslamp Quarter — San Diego's premier entertainment district — San Diego Film Festival (SDFF) is a competitive four-day fest that offers attendees a 360 festival experience. whether it’s a relaxing day of film and a night of parties, or catching a workshop and hitting a conference to learn from the pros, no single day is like another at SDFF. The Festival features more than 100 American and international feature, documentary, short films and music videos; intimate filmmaker and celebrity gatherings; industry panels and the American Screenwriters Association's annual conference; in addition to four nights of San Diego's most glamorous parties.
From hard-hitting documentaries to romantic comedies, to the edgy San Diego After-Hours series and everything in between-- the San Diego Film Festival has something to satisfy any cinema palette. Regular programming tracks include: Feature, Documentary, Short Films, Music Videos, Women Filmmakers Series, Native American Series, San Diego Filmmakers Series, Best of iVIE Student Filmmaker Series, and the Gay and Lesbian Film Series. Competitive Awards include Lifetime Achievement Award, Best Feature Film Award, Best Director Award, Best Screenplay Award, Best Documentary Award, Best Short Film Award, Best Actor Award, Best Actress Award, Most Promising Actor, San Diego Feature Film, San Diego Filmmaker, and the Governor’s Award.
