Known as a film festival that proudly “goes the extra mile” for filmmakers, the Red Rock Film Festival was included in MovieMaker Magazine’s 2009 list of “25 Festivals Worth the Entry Fee” for its filmmaker-friendly policies, perks and incentives that have included: a judging panel of industry professionals, more than $10,000 worth of prizes awarded by Hollywood Sound FX and Topaz Labs, a low entry fee, free tickets to filmmakers just for entering, a “no back-door” film selection policy, as well as feedback about the weaknesses and strengths of their films to filmmakers whose films are not selected. For all who attend the Red Rock Film Festival seeks to offer a retreat comprised of independent film premieres, film screenings and panels that both enlighten the senses and empower the mind. All genres are considered.

The Red Rock Film Festival is located in Springdale, Utah - that’s the Southern Utah town at the entrance to Zion National Park that was included in the ForbesTraveler.com 2008 list of the 20 prettiest towns in America. Another major perk for filmmakers with films being screened at Red Rock is hosted lodging from Pioneer Lodge, Zion Park Motel, Zion Park Inn, Flanigans Inn, Majestic View Lodge and others that all pitch in during the festival’s run to help visiting filmmakers feel welcome to Zion National Park and Southern Utah. Red Rock Film Festival is just a 1.5 hour drive north of Las Vegas to St. George, Utah with Springdale and Zion National Park another 45 minute drive.
