Puchon International Fantastic Film Festival (PiFan) programs a diverse slate of films of unique forms and styles that go beyond the realms of existing fantastic genre, in addition to choosing the latest domestic and international horror, thriller, mystery and fantasy films to satisfy dedicated fans of fantastic genre films. As the leading genre film festival in Asia, PiFan screens over 200 films from around the world.
PiFan’s programming consists of 8 sections, including Puchon Choice, World Fantastic Cinema, Fantastic Short Films, Forbidden Zone, Family Fanta, Ani-Fanta, Special Programs and Retrospectives.
In tandem with festival screenings, PiFan offers workshops taught by accomplished film professionals. (In 2007 "Special Effect Make-up in Asian Cinema," conducted by Cell, the Nishimura Motion Picture Model Makers Group and Michelle Wong, included and expert presentation and a practice workshop).
Each year festival goers can enjoy "Mega Talks" (interviews with leading film professionals in the Asian and/or Fantastic genre) and concert events. Selected films will be taken on the PiFan Roadshow, screening throughout various towns in Gyeonggi Province.
Puchon International Fantastic Film Festival gives Awards in the following categories:
PUCHON CHOICE FEATURE - International Competition
These six Awards are open to newly, Innovative genre centered Films showing forefront spirit in official competition section named Puchon Choice Feature. The Awards are selected by Juries of committee consisting of professionals in film and culture with the exception of "Prugio Citizen’s Choice" awards which are determined by audience’s votes.

PUCHON CHOICE SHORTS - International Competition

European Fantastic Film Festival Federation Award
EFFFF Asian Award is given to the best Asian genre film screened at PiFan of the year, selected by EFFFF'S representative Juries in EFFFF for discovery & encouragement of Asian film centered in fantastic genres.
Netpac Award
In the “Off the Fantastic" section that introduces films with different aspects of various genre films, Netpac members and experts in the culture industry will select the best Asian film for the Netpac Award.
Fujifilm Eterna Award
Each year, for the purpose of promoting Korean independent feature films and nurturing new talents under Fujifilm's sponsor, film experts award the Fujifilm Eterna as a prize to the best Korean independent feature film at that year's PiFan.
