Festival Description:

The MIX Festival presents a full slate of film, video, installation art, performances and parties! In addition to its monthly screenings at Collective; Unconscious, the ACT UP Oral History project continues to document the vicissitudes of AIDS activism by interviewing members of the radical group. They also reformulated A Different Take, a media training program which is now aimed at queer youth in an intensive summer session. And the festival has moved to what is for some uncharted territory—Lower Manhattan. Ensconced in the sleek, Kubrickian space of the 3LD Art & Technology Center, MIX presents its cinema odyssey with more space for installations and performances than ever before!

MIX NYC screens Experimental films, Alternative and controversial films and videos about GLBT issues and culture. MIX is looking for works of film performance, manipulated projections, light shows, expanded cinema or performance including film or video in an integral way. When in doubt, please contact MIX.
