The Ljubljana International Film Festival will present the latest films from all over the world and winners of the most prominent festivals (Berlin, Cannes, Venice, Rotterdam, etc.), accentuate unique auctorial poetics with tributes to individual authors and at the same time highlight some of the most exciting national productions. Films defying the common limits of the film language will again be included in the Against the Wind section, while the Extravagance section will present distinctively uncommon, pro-genre pieces.
The awards introduced by the Festival years ago, of course, remain. The Kingfisher will be presented to the best new film of the Perspectives section and Amnesty International will bestow their award to the best human rights film. There is a novelty concerning the Audience Award, however. The audience will be able to choose their candidate among the films of several sections.
