The Leeds Young People's Film Festival (LYPFF) has established its reputation as the leading young peoples' Festival in the United Kingdom and programs exciting and innovative films made both FOR and BY children and young people from across the UK and the world. The festival is open to shorts or features in any genre (fiction, documentary, animation) and in any format that will excite and motivate our audiences and that showcase the best and newest young filmmakers from around the globe.
NYFA (National Young Filmmakers' Award) is for short films made BY children and young people (up to 19 years old) in the UK. Selected films will be entered into competition where a jury comprising of young people and industry professionals will award £250 prizes in two age categories to the chosen films.
LYPFF Award- this category is for any films that are made specifically FOR children and young people. Entries can be any length, genre or format and submissions from anywhere in the world are welcomed.
The Festival also produces many seminars and masterclasses during the festival to help youngster and adults learn more about the filmmaking creative process and business.

Film Academy is the UK's leading interactive filmmaking programme for young people and your chance to find out how to make a film, design a costume or even create a Manga superhero. All the workshops are run by professionals working in the industry, so you get experience from real filmmakers, actors and artists who can show you the huge range of skills and talents that go to make up the film industry.
