Since its inception in 1999, Panorama's goal remains the same: to create a forum for the exchange of ideas and presentation of new artistic trends without preliminary committees or competitions. The festival has been developed with the goal of continueing "the dream of art’s freedom."
Panorama explores the boundaries of picture and sound and therefore welcomes all films regardless of their format or quality. The program consists of different styles and trends all over the world with events throughout the festival run that encourage a two-way communication between the directors and the audience.
Panorama sets no limits on film genre or length, therefore features, shorts, documentaries, experimental films and animation are all screened. The festival is divided in 5 parts: “Cinema, Sea of Peace,” “Greek Panorama,” “In the Ends of the World”, “Walking through Europe” and “Balkan neighbourhood”. The films competing for the prizes are divided in two categories: Greek and International.
