The International Festival of Animation Films “BIMINI” takes place in Latvia, gathering together in the screening room worldwide famous animators, animation genre theorists, and organizers of other animation festivals
In Latvian cinema’s culture “Bimini” is the only festival of its kind that provides worldwide animation sight range and reviews of last years' films, including also Latvian animators achievements, which in the last years have deserved approval from international famous professionals and animation films festivals.
“Bimini”, as the only festival of animation films in Latvia as well as the largest this genre festival in Baltics, has maintained its place both to spectators and to guests, who were satisfied about mature and art rich programs. Over the years, films reviews were addressed both to children and grownups, as well as to whole family – to different age and different interest groups.
Spectators, film professionals, media representatives all enjoy Bimini's slate of films as well as discussions about animation’s role and influence in contemporary cinematography.
Each year “Bimini” organizers have to watch more and more films, and the Festival is getting an international importance. In addition we hope that soon The International Festival of Animation Films “Bimini” will become a venue, where beside the reviews of animation films, workshops and idea exchanges, the cinema market will take place, providing domestic animators opportunities to build contacts with companies, which are ready to co-operate and make co-production films.
The program of the Festival includes the films participating in competition and out of competition films reviews, as well as the review of retrospective and informative films.
