The Impakt Festival offers visitors a startling mix of music, film and video, extraordinary exhibitions, discussions, panel meetings and presentations of internet art which push boundaries of the audiovisual media while looking for new prospects and applications. The Impakt festival presents work that expresses their critical view on our media landscape and reflects on our visual culture in a characteristic and discerning way.

The Panorama program features the best films and videos from the international exhibition circuit and festivals worldwide. The film and discussion program “Value Friction” explores the ways in which artists from various parts of the world use their work to reflect on the natural tension between existing values and new influences.

In addition, the Festival provides room for presentations, debates and discussions in the couch.club series. The Art and Science program features Internet projects exploring the gray areas between the two superpowers art and science. The Psycholudology program deals with the subject of the board game as an abstraction of the world. This couch.club also delves deeper into the power of the game over the player. The Dissidents and Restrictions program revolves around the relation between the Internet, repression and democracy.

The Impakt Festival exemplifies the significance of audiovisual media and their mark on our society. The festival program features a host of artists who provide content to our visual culture in their own alternative and critical ways. The festival organizes a slate of events and presentation that start the flow of dialogue and may (hopefully) produce many heated discussions, unexpected insights and pleasurable moments.
