Every year in Belo Horizonte a panorama of diversified audiovisual productions from various countries is presented, which includes the exhibition of contemporary and classic films and videos. Carried out in association with Associação Filmes de Quintal and the Department of Sociology and Anthropology at UFMG, the event constitutes a space for discussion of works exploring audiovisual resources in order to build a dialog with social life and cultural diversity.
The forumdoc.bh's format includes film and video screening commented by specialists and organizers, as well as debates, workshops, conferences and printed releases on the themes. All activities in the program, freely offered to general public, aim at stimulating and improving productions in the area.
Film sessions - divided into categories such as Competitive, Classic Documentary, and Author Retrospective - and other activities take place in HM Movie Theater, and on places such as cultural centers, and squares in different parts of the city, thus diversifying its audience. Part of the program is extended to the universities, and schools that also screen films from the forumdoc.bh collection.
