    Image+nation’s role and mission is to bring together reflections of our past, representations of where we came from and where we are now. Each year, some of us relive these moments, others discover our histories for the first time but ALL OF US come together to share in what makes up the unique Montréal LGBT community.

    For the past twenty years image+nation has continued to bring local, national and international visions of the LGBT experience to its Montreal audience - the yearly festival, as well as special presentations throughout the year. promote Québecois LGBT voices both locally and internationally (traveling program, and the yearly production of a best of DVD compilation). image+nation holds workshops and master classes and presents an extended festival of classic LGBT films in collaboration with La Cinémathèque Québecoise. The festival screens Features, Shorts and Documentaries.

    Les Palmares de Festival image+nation 2007- En Francais
    image+nation, le doyen des festivals de films LGBT au Canada, s’est terminé en grand – et dans une salle comble – dimanche soir au Cinéma Impérial avec la projection de son film de clôture, Comme des Voleurs (à l’Est) du réalisateur suisse Lionel Baier. Le jury d’image+nation 20, composé de Philippe Tasca, Nikki Forrest, Claudie Lévesque, Andrew Murphy et Lawrence Ferber, a également remis les prix suivants :

    GRAND PRIX DU JURY – LONG MÉTRAGE
    AVANT QUE J’OUBLIE (Jacques Nolot / France)
    Pour son portrait humoristique, envoûtant et profond d’un ex-gigolo, et d’un côté plutôt raffiné de la scène gaie parisienne.

    PRIX VISION 20/20: LE PRÉSENT ET LE FUTUR
    Ce nouveau prix, en l’honneur de l’anniversaire marquant d’image+nation, est présenté à un cinéaste qui fait preuve d’une vision singulière ou qui dépeint des sujets rarement mis de l’avant dans le cinéma LGBT.

    GRAND PRIX DU JURY – DOCUMENTAIRE
    A JIHAD FOR LOVE (Parvez Sharma / États-Unis, Royaume-Uni, France, Allemagne, Australie)
    Pour son approche sensible et intelligente d’un sujet important, ce film nous transporte par ces nombreux personnages à travers les pays de l’Islam. Un témoignage de la foi par le biais de l’homosexualité des sujets rencontrés.
