In the heart of Quebec’s winter, this convivial meeting allows directors to present their work and to exchange with the public and also with short film’s professionals. The event takes place in Saguenay-Lac-Saint-Jean, and is the most important pole of diffusion and recognition of the new generation of short film’s creators in Quebec and this, in an international context.
Since more than ten years, REGARD presents, during five days, more than 100 short films to a public each year larger and more diversified. In addition to the regular programming, special programs and activities are added to make of REGARD the most important festival dedicate only to short films in Quebec.
The festival favors an open and innovative programming which gives the place of honor to independent productions by offering them an exceptional forum. It is an important place of exchanges and networking for the professionals in short films.
The festival is produced by Caravane Films Productions, a non-profit organization founded in 1995 by a group of young artists in media arts in Saguenay-Lac-Saint-Jean.
Caravane films’ mission is to offer to the public the most important Francophone festival of short films in North America, and this, in a great conviviality spirit, while continuing actions of promotion and education on short film.
