Awards given include:
DOCÚPOLIS AWARD (Worth : 6.000 €)- Best Documentary film. The Docúpolis Award to the best documentary is a recognition of the documentary work and of author. The subject matter is free and they can compete for the prize from students to professionals. The efficiency and the rigor documentary maker are essential aspects of this prize, but also it it are the experimentation and the treatment.
GRAN ANGULAR AWARD TVE Catalunya (Worth: 3.000 €)- Best Short Documentary Film. The works presented to the "Gran Angular" award TVE Catalunya will be works not emitted previously in Catalunya, with a duration of among 21 to 25 minutes and free of rights. TVE Catalunya will pay 3.000 euros directly to the winning documentary. The winning authors will yield the broadcasting rights to TVE Catalunya for three emissions. The Catalonian TVE' s program Gran Angular is a program of documentaries and articles of social subject matters. The program tries to be a platform for the diffusion of the works of new producers.
BEST FIRST DOCUMENTARY AWARD (Worth: Documentary’s distribution by Ermedia). This prize is to go toward the distribution of the winning film makers production. The company in charge of distributing the documentary is Ermedia.
TERCER OJO AWARD – Best experimental documentary film. This prize, granted by Tercer Ojo, Association of Cinema and Documentary
Video, must meet the criteria defined by Tercer Ojo: experimentation, risk, freshness, aesthetic ethics, and contribution to the development of documentary language.
HUMAN RIGHTS AWARD – Best documentary film. This prize is a contribution to the enrichment of the fundamental values of the human being and for that reason the call tries to be a seal of identity of the festival like a datum point for the defense of the human rights.
BEST LATIN AMERICAN DOCUMENTARY- Docupolis gives this award responding to the great participation of documentaries coming from Latin America, a complex area but with a great increase in documentary production.
AUDIENCE AWARD- The public attending to the Festival choose the best documentary on competition.
THE MAN OF THE CAMERA AWARD- This award was first granted in 2004 with the aim of recognizing and supporting the honorific career of a documentary maker. It is dedicated to film makers who have left an important legacy in the audio-visual and the documentary field. One of the criteria being valued is the historical issue as well as the audio-visual quality of the work.
