    Cinéfest Sudbury screens Domestic and World cinema in categories including: Features, Shorts, Animation, Children's, Documentary and Aboriginal programming with annual awards that include: CTV Best Ontario Feature Film; Bell Canada Audience Choice Award, and the National Film Board of Canada Carolyn Fouriezos Award for Best First Feature Film.

    Cinéfest is actively involved in promoting film education and production in Northern Ontario through the CTV Amateur Videomakers’ Competition – an annual event which distributes $10,000 in cash prizes to help budding filmmakers to continue to hone their craft.

    Cinéfest introduced an Industry Forum component to the Festival in 2003 which provides Northerners with access to the expertise of various professionals such as: Deepa Mehta, Director; Don Carmody, Academy Award Producer, and Silva Basmajian, National Film Board of Canada.
