  • Festival Description:

    Bilbao Film Festival (ZINEBI) is a Short and Documentary Film Festival and  the oldest one from its category in Spain. It's recognized by the FIAPF(International Association of Film's Producers) and has a competition in three genres: fiction, documentary and animation. Apart from the official section there are several parallel programs, retrospectives and mostras in the Guggenheim's Museum and in the Fine Arts Museum. Roman Polanski, Mark Lester, Pedro Almodovar, Alejandro Amenabar and more have participated in the competition along the Festival's many editions.

    Prizes will be given out as follows:

    GRAND PRIZE OF THE BILBAO FESTIVAL- 6,000 Euros
    GRAND PRIZE FOR SPANISH FILMS- 4,200 Euros
    GRAND PRIZE FOR BASQUE FILMS- 4,200 Euros

    GOLD MIKELDI FOR ANIMATION- 3,000 Euros
    SILVER MIKELDI FOR ANIMATION- 1,800 Euros

    DOCUMENTARIES:
    GOLD MIKELDI FOR DOCUMENTARY FILMS- 3,000 Euros
    SILVER MIKELDI FOR DOCUMENTARY FILMS- 1,800 Euros

    FICTION:
    GOLD MIKELDI FOR FICTION- 3,000 Euros
    SILVER MIKELDI FOR FICTION- 1,800 Euros
    SILVER CARAVEL- 3,000 Euros for the Best Latin American Film
