This festival screens Animation films of all lengths and genres in categories that include:
SHORT FILM COMPETITION- Short films less than 45 minutes in length and made using any animation technique.
FULL-LENGTH FILM COMPETITION- Full-length films (more than 45 minutes) made using any animation technique.
TV PROGRAM COMPETITION- Programs and episodes from animated series that do not exceed 60 minutes in length.
SHORT FILMS MADE BY SCHOOLS COMPETITION- This section is meant for schools whose study plans include animation courses, as well as any study center with an animation department.
NATIONAL SHORT SHORT COMPETITION- Meant for all those Spanish schools whose study plans include animation courses.
Additional sections change annually, but generally include children's film programming, experimental, daring or groundbreaking films, a slate films from a country of focus, tributes to animators of the past or present, a film school guest of honor and their students' work, advertising plus much more.
Awards include:
Official Competitive Section of International Full-Length Films:
Best Full-Length Film-will be awarded with 12,000 € and a trophy.
Official Competitive Section of International Short Films:
First Prize- to be awarded 9,000.00 € and a trophy.
Second Prize- to be awarded 6,000.00 € and a trophy.
Third Prize- to be awarded 3,000.00 € and a trophy.
Audience Award- to be awarded 3,000.00 €.
Best Spanish Short Film- to be awarded 2,000.00 €. The Film and Audiovisual School of the Community of Madrid (ECAM) awards this prize to the best Spanish short film and the granting of this award will not prevent the film from winning any other official award at the festival.
Best Children's Short Film- to be awarded 3,000 € to the best film with a children theme. The granting of this award will not prevent the film from winning any other official award at the festival.
Official Competitive Section of International Television Programs Award for the best TV episode- to be awarded 3,000 € and a trophy.
Official Competitive Section of International Short Films Made by Animation Schools Award- for the best short film to be awarded 3,000 € and a trophy. NATIONAL SHORT Short Competition Bests Animadrid Short- to be awarded 1,500.00 €, a diploma and a trophy.
