ANIMACOR is a cultural event which aims to contribute to the development of the animation industry while promoting the exchange of knowledge and experience among different countries, and establishing international relations between producers and filmmakers. The Animacor festival has gained in scope over the course of its lifetime, putting Córdoba on the international circuit of animation festivals. Each year the number of films has increased, not only from European and Latin American countries, but also from South Korea, Iran, Canada, Russia and Japan. In addition to the “Competitive Section”, Animacor’09 will also feature matinee screenings for schools in Córdoba and its surroundings. Evening screenings will also be scheduled for all audiences. These activities will be held in the Filmoteca (Film Archives) of Andalusia. As has been done at past festivals in the Palacio de la Merced (venue of the Córdoba County Offices), exhibitions and workshops devoted to the application of new technologies in animation will be held.
Animacor will have the following competition categories: Feature Film: Films with a running time of more than 60 minutes;TV series: consisting of a set of episodes, with or without a common generic title, intended to be screened successively and continuously; each episode may be a complete narrative unit, or may be continued in the following episode; Short Film: Films with a running time under 20 minutes that are not part of a series.
All entries using any frame-by-frame animation technique will be admitted for competition.
