identities – Vienna’ s International Queer Film Festival - considers films and videos of all genres by, about and of interest to lesbians, gay men, bisexual, transgendered, queer people. Main focus of identities. festival programming is on gender identity and diversity, making different and less presented topics, issues and genres visible and accessible.
Queer Films are internationally acclaimed, successful and by no means only meant for a specific "target audience". Unfortunately they hardly ever make it to Austrian screens by means of distribution. Therefore, enthusiastic Viennese audiences wait all year to see festival films that make their premiers at identities.
