MEDIAWAVE 2008 Award Ceremony was held in the former synagogue, now University Concert Hall in the evening 2 May. Animation films were missing from the list of the award winner films this year, Hungarian fictions were preferred by the international jury, though the main prizes were received by Eastern-European documentaries again.

Ella Davletsina, documentary filmmaker, director of "MEETINGS IN SIBERIA" International Documentary Film Festival (RUS), Mike Hoolboom, fringe filmmaker (CAN), Samira Sinai, actress, director (IRN), Ferenc Török, filmdirector (HUN), Zoltán Korösi, writer (HUN).
