  • The Atlantic Film Festival Association is very pleased to announce screenwriter, author, and story consultant, Noel Baker as the special guest instructor for the 2008 Inspired Script Program, presented by sponsors, Telefilm Canada and Astral Media The Harold Greenburg Fund.

    Inspired Script offers a unique opportunity for four Atlantic Canadian writers to develop their feature film outlines to treatments and pitch them to a panel of industry professionals at the 28th Atlantic Film Festival (September 11-20, 2008). The winner of the pitch will receive $20,000 in development financing and will also receive a live, staged full read-through with local actors at Script Out Loud during the 29th Atlantic Film Festival.

    The four outlines, selected by an Inspired Script Jury, will be developed into treatments through three intensive weekend workshops with script editor, Noel Baker and world-renowned pitching expert, Jan Miller.

    The deadline to submit outlines has been extended by a week to accommodate writers interested in working with Noel Baker.

    ABOUT NOEL BAKER
    Noel Baker is a screenwriter, author, and story consultant based in Toronto. He is so far best known for writing the award-winning script for the punk road movie Hard Core Logo, and for his memoir, Hard Core Roadshow: A Screenwriter's Diary. He also co-created the Showcase/Oxygen Network series Show Me Yours and has written for several other dramatic television series. In addition to his current slate of feature film projects, Baker serves as Screenwriter-in-Residence at the Canadian Film Centre in Toronto, where he has mentored emerging screenwriters since 1999.

    Inspired Script is part of the Inspired Industry Sessions at the Atlantic Film Festival along with Inspired Music and Inspired Doc. All are presented by the Atlantic Film Festival Association (AFFA).

  • Join us this Friday night, September 7th, as we kick off the 27th Atlantic Film Festival with our annual al Fresco-style Film On The Hill event.

    The screening begins at 8:00 PM or dusk at the Garrison Grounds at Citadel Hill. Entry fee: $5.00 suggested donation
