San FranciscoFilmFestivalWorld.com is about launching films on the festival circuit where independent filmmakers will have access to the entertainment media and to some of cinema's best audiences for their work.
While navigating among the thousands of film festivals in the world to achieve film promotion goals can be so difficult that veteran filmmakers and production companies often task it to outside consultants, by using the tools and resources that FFW has assembled any filmmaker can level the playing field in launching and promoting a film.
FilmFestivalWorld.com has also been designed to serve industry professionals who program, distribute, and review the work of independent filmmakers, and to provide resources for film and media arts students and faculty. In a visit to FFW you can:
Just pull down our Film Genre navigation menu to visit film and film festival gateway pages indexed into the following genres: Animation-Games, Children, Comedy-Romance, Documentary, Drama, Experimental-New Media, Gay-Lesbian, Science Fiction-Fantasy-Horror and Television. Genre gateways make it fast and easy to browse the films FFW presents and by clicking on a film title in one of the Award-Winning Films sections at the top of each genre gateway page you will open a Mediaplex screen for that film where you can watch the film's trailer and access its online press kit. Genre gateways also make it easy to focus on genre-specific film festivals for planning film submissions and festival attendance.
By clicking on a festival name in a map page, in a calendar page or in the festival A-Z list you will see the full festival profile. Click on any of the festival images on this page to see a typical film festival profile.
Once your film is accepted for screening at one of the festivals we profile you can create and FFW will present an online press kit for that film — even in advance of its premiere screening. When a film wins one or more awards from any of the festivals we list FFW will feature the film in a Mediaplex screen. Additionally as the film travels a circuit of festival screenings the Member Posts area of the online press kit can be used for announcements, and used interactively with other FFW members. Each online press kit has its own URL for direct access.

Because independent doesn’t mean working alone
It began as the “Sometime In October Film Festival,” screening films from as close as you backyard to as far as the other side of the globe. Three days in the month of October to celebrate the art and spirit of independent filmmaking set against the backdrop of beautiful, historic downtown Wilmington, NC home of EUE Screen Gems Studios and the current CW smash One Tree Hill. This festival has always focused on indigenous work, with a reduced entry fee for North Carolina filmmakers and free entry for all Wilmington made films.
Now in it’s 8th year, the festival has a new name and a new place on the calendar. We are proud to be joining forces with other Wilmington artists in May for the week long arts celebration, BRIDGE TO BRIDGE. The “Cape Fear Independent Film Festival” will kick off the week with three days of short films in a hip downtown location. The competition will be friendly but fierce, with the best film walking away with the $1000 Grand Prize. Awards will be given to the best films in 5 sub-genres as well.
The festival is the pinnacle event for CFIFN. It provides a fun and vibrant atmosphere for filmmakers to network outside group meetings, finding new colleagues and potential investors. It provides an educational focus with a yearly showcase of the best works from the Cape Fear Community College film program. And it allows filmmakers to share their art with the community at large. With sponsorship and community support, the festival continues to add new elements, like technology showcases and the Wayne Bradley Creative Spirit Award.
The Cape Fear Independent Film Festival will take place May 2-4 with screenings at City Stage and seminars, parties and other events scattered around the downtown area. Nina Repeta (Dawson's Creek, Radioland Murders) will serve as mistress of ceremonies for the festival and the following awards ceremony.
As the festival grows it will continue to promote the independent spirit and show people that bigger budgets don’t always mean better movies. For more information or to download your entry form, visit www.cfifn.org.
SUBMISSION FEES AND GUIDLINES:
All entries must be submitted on DVD or NTSC VHS tape. Length of film must be 45 minutes or less.
DEADLINE: March 1st -- FEE: $35
LATE DEADLINE: April 1st -- FEE: $45
North Carolina residents, take $10 OFF the entry fee.
Wilmington residents can submit any film out of competition at no charge. If you wish to have your film compete for a prize, you must pay the North Carolina entry fee.
Come out and celebrate, with two awesome parties and an all night filmmakers lounge, you won't want to miss this festival. Parties not your thing? Check out our seminars, Cinepartners of Wilmington will be on hand with equipment demonstrations and a short film distribution forum will help you get your projects seen by the world! visit www.cfifn.org today, download your entry form! See you in May!
Thanks!!

The ATA Film & Video Festival was founded in 2006 to showcase some of the best short works by independent and experimental film and video artists exhibiting locally, nationally and internationally. The festival includes several nights of screenings and installations in our Mission District storefront gallery and a lunch for the filmmakers. Throughout the year, work from the festival is broadcast to the San Francisco community on ATV, ATA’s weekly cable-access television show, and screened in other national and international venues.
Artists' Television Access is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, all-volunteer, artist-run, experimental media arts gallery that has been in operation since 1984. ATA hosts a series of film and video screenings, exhibitions and performances by emerging and established artists and a weekly cable access television program.

An international search is now underway for the best in environmental documentaries, narratives, shorts, ad campaigns, PSAs, new media, etc. We welcome entries related to climate change, consumption, solutions, environmental justice, energy, transportation, sustainable living, food production, wildlife, oceans, rivers, forests, restoration, and other environmental topics. Films addressing social themes with an environmental component will also be considered.
This is our 10-year anniversary; entries that explore how environmental media and messaging have developed over that time (or generally) are also encouraged.
English or English subtitles only. While the maximum length for submissions is 90 minutes with rare exceptions, screening time is limited and shorter pieces may have a better chance of being accepted.
Selected films have the chance to become part of the “Best of Fest,” approximately 10 films so honored after the festival based in large part on audience ratings.
Remaining deadline and entry fees are as follows:
By February 15 deadline: $50 (reg) $35 (student)
